The tweener ball transition volleyball drill is one of Dan Fisher’s favorites. The tweener ball drill focuses on running an in system offense from 8 to 12 feet off the net. Basically the ‘in between’ area of a good pass and a bad pass thus giving the drill the name ‘tweener’. The goal is to run a middle attack and make it part of your normal offense.

It includes volleyball spiking technique from Bill, verbal queues, as well as step by step on how he teaches spiking! This video is a must for all club and high school coaches who teach youth and junior volleyball players.
STD Volleyball Drill – “Super Technical Drill” is a great drill to help area 2 and 4 hitters as well as blocking in area 2 and 4. The drill basically forces the ball to the outside where the outside hitters can only hit line or angle. This forces the hitter to improve spiking shots as they are now forced to work on all their shots.
Practice Plan #1 – Part 4 of 10 – Outside and Middle Hitter Tutor Volleyball Drills – These drills are set up to work on specific needs of either the outside hitters or the middle attackers! Great series of videos!
Middle Hitter Tutor Volleyball Drills – This drill works on specific needs for the middle. In this case the setter and the middles were not connecting on a fast set so they adjusted the set slightly higher so that they connected better.
In this multi video instructional series Tom Black and John Meyer offer specific details on helping players improve their approach and thus their spiking after passing. This is a great video and drill for players of all levels. There are also some great verbal cues offered for coaching.
Priscilla demonstrates a court vision beach drill. The drill has the hitter use their peripheral vision to hit to a coach, without a call from the setter.
Jeff shares his insight on middle hitting. This series demonstrates how to be deceptive and beat the blocker to the punch when spiking out the middle.
1. The gap is always placed between area two and area three. Make the approach from the middle position with correct form to maximize power and range to all angles of the court.
The middle front one ball is a very fast attack meant to beat the blocker with quickness and speed. Jeff talks about and demonstrates the correct form for this attack.
Seth presents a 6 video series on hitting with power. Using a bungee cord these exercises greatly increase arm speed and power when spiking a volleyball on both the beach and indoor.
