This drill is just flat out ugly, because the players have never run it nor have they effectively been taught how to block. Yet in cases like this it is important to struggle thought the drill so the players can get better. This is what Andor does with Kerri and the team.

This series of two videos features Kerri’s team warm up plus her first drill – Overpass hitting drill. This is the first series of videos where we can see Kerri coaching and observe her coaching style and what drills she likes to run and why. Although the drills she runs are not very good in our opinion based upon the skill of the team and what we see as the team goals it is worth watching so that you can later compare what Andor suggest and why by comparison.

Andor has taken over practice and has modified the offense drill he was running into a simple exchange drill based upon the skill and ball control of the players. This series of 3 videos is extremely revealing and shows so many important points with regard to good coaching.

Andor points out a few things that he thinks Kerri should consider in running the practice in order to make it a little smother and better. Andor coaching style, this early in the practice and based upon the needs that he sees is to really be on top of the kids with a ton of verbal cues and correction. Hi, I’m Andor Gyulai – Owner of Volleyball1on1.com, I created this video to express some frustrations I have in the new ways volleyball spiking is being taught by people who have little experience playing the game, especially beach volleyball as well as minimal experience coaching youth successfully. I made this video to bring some new points to the conversation and hopefully give some confidence to experience coaches who are questioning what they are teaching and if it is correct in their coaching philosophies.
