  • SECTION 1 – CLUB MISSION, PURPOSE, AND ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PHILOSOPHY ©

    Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball Club (“SJVC” or the “Club”) is a private membership-based athletic training organization dedicated to helping young athletes develop a lifelong love for volleyball while building confidence, leadership, resilience, discipline, accountability, and character. The Club believes athletics can be one of the most powerful tools for personal development. While volleyball skills, competition, and athletic performance are important, the Club’s mission extends beyond sport and includes helping athletes become confident young women who are prepared for success in life. SJVC seeks to create an environment where athletes learn: • Leadership • Confidence • Personal accountability • Discipline • Responsibility • Sportsmanship • Resilience • Teamwork • Effective communication • Respect • Gratitude • Independence • Self-advocacy • Positive mindset habits The Club may incorporate athletic training, leadership instruction, confidence building, mindset development, visualization, affirmations, goal setting, communication training, and personal growth principles as part of its overall athlete development model. Parents/Guardians and the Athletes acknowledge that participation in the Club includes exposure to these developmental philosophies and coaching methods.
  • SECTION 2 – ATHLETE INDEPENDENCE PHILOSOPHY ©

    SJVC believes one of the greatest gifts that can be provided to a young athlete is the opportunity to develop independence, confidence, and personal responsibility. Accordingly, the Club intentionally creates opportunities for athletes to: • Communicate directly with coaches • Solve problems independently • Learn responsibility • Develop leadership skills • Build self-confidence • Advocate for themselves • Navigate challenges appropriately • Learn accountability for their actions The Club believes the above-listed life skills are essential for future success in academics, athletics, careers, relationships, and personal growth. Parents/Guardians acknowledge that athlete development may require athletes to face challenges, receive constructive feedback, compete, and build resilience through experience. The Club’s Athlete Independence Philosophy © is considered a core component of membership and participation.
  • SECTION 3 – CLOSED PRACTICE POLICY

    SJVC operates primarily as a closed-practice training environment. The Club has found that athletes often learn more effectively when they are able to focus exclusively on coaches, teammates, and training without ongoing parental observation or intervention. Accordingly: • Parents/Guardians generally may not observe practices. • Parents/Guardians generally may not remain in training areas. • Parents/Guardians generally may not participate in coaching discussions during training sessions. • Parents/Guardians generally may not communicate instructions to athletes during practices. The Club may periodically designate observation days, showcases, parent education sessions, scrimmages, tournaments, or other events where parents are invited to attend. The purpose of closed practices is to: • Reduce distractions • Improve athlete focus • Encourage independence • Strengthen coach-athlete communication • Create a professional training environment • Enhance athlete development Parents/Guardians acknowledge that the Closed Practice Policy is an intentional component of the Club’s training model.
  • SECTION 4 – CLOSED FACILITY POLICY

    SJVC operates primarily as a closed facility during practices, camps, clinics, lessons, strength and conditioning sessions, team meetings, and Club activities. Parents are encouraged to utilize the Club’s convenient drop-off and pick-up procedures. Unless specifically invited by Club management: • Parents/Guardians may not remain in the lobby during activities. • Parents/Guardians may not occupy training areas. • Parents/Guardians may not occupy fitness areas. • Parents/Guardians may not occupy offices or coach workspaces. • Parents/Guardians may not remain inside the facility during scheduled training sessions. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to leave the facility and return at the designated pick-up time. The Club provides ample parking for drop-off and pick-up convenience. Parents/Guardians who choose to remain on-site may remain in designated parking areas unless otherwise directed by Club staff. This policy exists to support: • Athlete independence • Privacy • Safety • Focus • Efficient operations • Professional training standards • Direct coach-athlete communication The Club reserves the right to deny entry, limit access, or require any visitor to leave the premises when necessary to maintain safety, privacy, Club operations, or the training environment.
  • SECTION 5 – PRIVATE CLUB MEMBERSHIP POLICY

    SJVC is a private membership-based athletic training organization. Membership and/or camp participation is a privilege and not a right. The Club reserves the right, in its sole discretion and consistent with applicable law, to deny, suspend, revoke, terminate, or decline renewal of any membership or participation privilege when such action is deemed necessary to protect: • Athlete safety • Club culture • Club operations • Staff members • Coaches • Athletes • Families • Club reputation • Training environment Grounds for suspension or termination may include: • Violation of Club policies • Unsafe conduct • Disruptive behavior • Harassment • Bullying • Unauthorized photography • Unauthorized social media posting • Repeated violation of Club rules • Conduct inconsistent with Club values • Parent/Guardian misconduct • Athlete misconduct Parents/Guardians acknowledge that membership includes acceptance of the Club’s Athlete Independence Philosophy©, Closed Practice Policy, Closed Facility Policy, developmental philosophy, coaching methods, communication expectations, and operational policies. Membership and/or camp participation may be suspended or terminated if those policies are not respected.
  • SECTION 6 – PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT AND CLUB CULTURE AGREEMENT

    Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball Club believes that exceptional athlete development occurs when athletes, parents, coaches, and Club leadership work together in a positive, respectful, and professional manner. The Club seeks to create an environment built upon: • Respect • Accountability • Sportsmanship • Integrity • Leadership • Gratitude • Discipline • Responsibility • Personal Growth • Teamwork Parents/Guardians acknowledge that their conduct directly affects athletes’ experiences, team culture, and the Club’s overall success. Accordingly, Parents/Guardians agree to act in a manner consistent with the mission, values, standards, and culture of Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball Club.
  • SECTION 7 – PARENT/GUARDIAN BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

    Parents/Guardians agree to: • Treat all athletes, coaches, staff members, officials, volunteers, vendors, parents, and guests with courtesy and respect. • Support the Club’s Athlete Independence Philosophy™. • Support direct coach-athlete communication whenever age appropriate. • Model good sportsmanship at all times. • Encourage effort, improvement, teamwork, and character development. • Respect Club policies and procedures. • Respect coaching decisions. • Respect facility rules. • Communicate concerns professionally and respectfully. • Promote a positive experience for all athletes. Parents/Guardians understand that they represent both their athlete and the Club community.
  • SECTION 8 – PROHIBITED PARENT/GUARDIAN CONDUCT

    The following conduct from a Parental/Guardian is prohibited at all times: • Verbal abuse • Threatening behavior • Harassment • Intimidation • Bullying • Profanity directed toward others • Personal attacks • Hostile confrontations • Disruptive conduct • Retaliatory behavior • Conduct that negatively impacts Club culture Parents/Guardians shall not: • Yell at athletes • Yell at coaches • Yell at officials • Yell at staff members • Publicly criticize athletes • Publicly criticize coaches • Publicly criticize staff members • Create disturbances during Club activities • Engage in confrontational behavior • Create a hostile environment The Club reserves the right to remove any individual from the premises whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, inappropriate, or inconsistent with Club standards.
  • SECTION 9 – NO SIDELINE COACHING POLICY

    SJVC coaches are responsible for athlete instruction and development. Parents/Guardians agree not to: • Coach from the sidelines • Signal instructions to athletes • Direct athlete decisions during practices • Override coaching instruction • Attempt to manage training sessions • Interrupt coaching activities The Club believes athletes learn best when they receive consistent instruction from designated coaches.
  • SECTION 10 – COMMUNICATION POLICY

    The Club believes healthy communication is critical to athlete development and the Club encourages respectful, solution-oriented communication. Parents/Guardians agree to follow the Club communication process. Step One: Athlete communicates directly with the coach whenever age appropriate. Step Two: Parent requests a meeting if concerns remain. Step Three: Club leadership becomes involved if necessary. Parents/Guardians agree not to confront coaches: • Before practices • During practices • Immediately after practices • Before competitions • During competitions • Immediately following competitions
  • SECTION 11 – TWENTY-FOUR HOUR COOLING-OFF PERIOD

    Athletics often involve emotional situations. Parents/Guardians agree to observe a minimum twenty-four (24) hour cooling-off period before requesting discussions regarding: • Playing time • Team placement • Tournament outcomes • Coaching decisions • Athlete performance • Competition results • Leadership decisions • Team selection decisions This policy helps ensure productive and professional communication.
  • SECTION 12 – TEAM PLACEMENT, PLAYING TIME, AND COACHING DECISIONS

    Parents/Guardians acknowledge that: • Playing time is not guaranteed. • Team placement is not guaranteed. • Positions are not guaranteed. • Leadership roles are not guaranteed. • Tournament participation may vary. • Coaching assignments may change. • Competitive opportunities may vary. Parents/Guardians understand that coaching decisions are based upon numerous factors including: • Effort • Attendance • Skill level • Team needs • Attitude • Coach evaluation • Competitive circumstances Parents/Guardians agree that disagreements regarding playing time, positions, coaching decisions, evaluations, or team placement shall not constitute grounds for claims against the Club.
  • SECTION 13 – SOCIAL MEDIA, REPUTATION, AND NON-DISRUPTION POLICY

    SJVC has invested substantial time, resources, expertise, and financial commitment into developing its athletes, programs, facilities, coaches, and reputation. Parents/Guardians agree not to engage in conduct intended to damage the reputation, operations, culture, goodwill, or business interests of the Club. Parents/Guardians shall not: • Publish false statements regarding the Club. • Publish misleading statements regarding the Club. • Encourage attacks against the Club. • Coordinate negative campaigns against the Club. • Harass Club personnel online. • Harass athletes online. • Harass families online. • Use social media to undermine Club operations. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to prohibit lawful rights protected by applicable law; however, parents agree to first communicate concerns directly with Club leadership whenever reasonably possible.
  • SECTION 14 – RECORDING, SCREENSHOTS, AND PRIVATE COMMUNICATIONS

    Parents/Guardians agree not to: • Secretly record coaches. • Secretly record staff members. • Secretly record meetings. • Record conversations without consent where prohibited by law. • Publish screenshots of private Club communications. • Publish TeamSnap communications. • Publish internal emails. • Publish internal text messages. • Publish private discussions involving athletes, coaches, staff members, or families. The Club maintains these policies to protect privacy, confidentiality, athletes’ safety, and professional operations.
  • SECTION 15 – PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO RECORDING, AND SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

    SJVC is a private training facility. To protect athlete privacy, safety, and the developmental environment: • Photography inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Video recording inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Audio recording inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Livestreaming inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Posting photographs from inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Posting videos from inside the facility is prohibited unless authorized. • Posting screenshots of internal Club communications is prohibited unless authorized. Unauthorized content may be required to be removed immediately. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of membership and/or participation privileges.
  • SECTION 16 – CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVATE CLUB INFORMATION

    Parents/Guardians acknowledge that certain Club information may be confidential or proprietary. Parents/Guardians agree not to disclose: • Internal evaluations • Athlete assessments • Staff discussions • Internal business information • Financial information • Training methodologies • Proprietary coaching systems • Internal Club operations • Membership information • Contact information of other members The Club’s coaching methods, training systems, educational materials, manuals, presentations, practice plans, and intellectual property are proprietary assets of Volleyball1on1 and St. Johns Volleyball Club.
  • SECTION 17 – PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT ACKNOWLEDGMENT

    I acknowledge that I have read and understand the Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct. I understand that compliance with these standards is a condition of membership and/or camp participation. I understand that violations may result in: • Verbal warnings • Written warnings • Suspension • Restriction of facility access • Removal from activities • Termination of membership
  • SECTION 18 – ASSUMPTION OF RISK

    I understand and acknowledge that participation in volleyball, athletic training, strength and conditioning, fitness activities, camps, clinics, tournaments, private lessons, open gym sessions, special events, travel activities, and all Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball Club programs involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken by the Club, its coaches, staff, contractors, volunteers, and affiliates. These risks include, but are not limited to: • Slips, trips, and falls • Contact with other athletes • Contact with equipment • Contact with facility structures • Volleyball-related injuries • Weight training injuries • Fitness training injuries • Sprains • Strains • Fractures • Concussions • Head injuries • Neck injuries • Back injuries • Permanent disability • Illness • Property damage • Emotional distress • Death I knowingly and voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation in Club activities.
  • SECTION 19 – RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS

    In consideration for membership and/or participation in Club activities, I, on behalf of myself, my child, my heirs, representatives, successors, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Volleyball1on1, St. Johns Volleyball Club, their owners, officers, directors, coaches, trainers, employees, contractors, volunteers, sponsors, landlords, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, losses, causes of action, expenses, costs, or attorney’s fees arising out of or related to participation in Club activities or use of Club facilities. This release applies to claims involving: • Personal injury • Property damage • Athletic participation • Facility use • Equipment use • Weight room use • Fitness activities • Transportation-related activities • Club operations To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law.
  • SECTION 20 – FACILITY SAFETY RULES

    Participants and visitors agree to comply with all facility safety rules. The following is prohibited conduct at all times: • Running in hallways • Running in bathrooms • Running in lobby areas • Running in offices • Running in common areas • Horseplay • Roughhousing • Climbing on furniture • Climbing on counters • Climbing on sinks • Climbing on walls • Hanging on doors • Hanging on fixtures • Throwing balls outside designated training areas • Entering restricted areas Athletes and visitors must follow all directions provided by Club staff.
  • SECTION 21 – GLASS WALLS, MIRRORS, GLASS DOORS, AND ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES

    The facility contains glass walls, mirrors, office fronts, glass doors, windows, decorative architectural features, and premium finishes. Parents/Guardians and Athletes acknowledge: • Glass may not always be immediately visible. • Contact with glass may cause serious injury. • Running near glass features is prohibited. • Leaning on glass features is prohibited. • Hanging on glass features is prohibited. • Striking glass features is prohibited. The Club shall not be responsible for injuries arising from misuse of facility features or failure to follow facility rules.
  • SECTION 22 – FUNCTIONAL FITNESS AREA AND FOOTWEAR POLICY

    SJVC incorporates functional fitness and athletic performance training into its athlete development programs. Certain activities may be performed: • Barefoot • In socks • In approved athletic footwear The Club believes selected barefoot and sock-based training may improve: • Balance • Coordination • Proprioception • Foot strength • Ankle stability • Movement quality • Athletic performance Parents/Guardians understand that no footwear choice eliminates the risk of injury, and potential risks include: • Athletic injuries • Dropped weights • Equipment impacts • Foot injuries • Toe injuries • Slips • Falls Parent/Guardian voluntarily assume all risks associated with footwear choices and fitness training activities of their Athlete.
  • SECTION 23 – MINDSET, LEADERSHIP, AFFIRMATIONS, MEDITATION, AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

    As part of its athlete development philosophy, SJVC may incorporate: • Leadership development • Goal setting • Visualization • Positive affirmations • Gratitude practices • Confidence building • Mindfulness • Meditation • Communication training • Personal responsibility training Parents/Guardians acknowledge these activities are educational in nature. The Club does not provide: • Psychological counseling • Psychotherapy • Mental health treatment • Medical treatment • Clinical services Participation in these activities is voluntary and educational.
  • SECTION 24 – TRANSPORTATION DISCLAIMER

    Parents/Guardians retain responsibility for transportation and supervision before arrival and after dismissal. The Club is not responsible for: • Carpools • Transportation arrangements • Rides provided by third parties • Unauthorized departures • Parking lot incidents after dismissal • Events occurring after dismissal • Injuries occurring after departure from Club activities Parents/Guardians assume full responsibility for transportation arrangements.
  • SECTION 25 – MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION

    In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, Parent/Guardian hereby authorizes Club personnel to obtain emergency medical treatment for their child. Parent/Guardian understands that all medical expenses remain their responsibility.
  • SECTION 26 – MEDIA RELEASE

    Parent/Guardian hereby grants permission to Volleyball1on1 and St. Johns Volleyball Club to photograph, record, livestream, and use images, video, audio, and likenesses of my child for educational, promotional, marketing, social media, and commercial purposes without compensation.
  • SECTION 27 – INDEMNIFICATION

    Parent/Guardian hereby agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Volleyball1on1, St. Johns Volleyball Club, their owners, officers, directors, coaches, trainers, employees, contractors, volunteers, sponsors, landlords, affiliates, successors, and assigns from claims arising from my child’s participation with any Club activities, my actions, violations of Club policies, or conduct occurring in connection with Club activities.
  • SECTION 28 – GOVERNING LAW

    This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any legal proceeding shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in St. Johns County, Florida unless otherwise required by applicable law.
  • SECTION 29 – SEVERABILITY

    If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  • SECTION 30 – FINAL ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND CONTINUING AGREEMENT

    I acknowledge that I have carefully read the entirety of these Agreements and understand their contents. I understand that by signing these Agreements that I am agreeing to the Club’s policies, procedures, athlete development philosophy, facility rules, participation requirements, and legal provisions. I understand that these Agreements apply to all current and future memberships, camps, clinics, lessons, tournaments, open gym sessions, strength and conditioning activities, special events, and Club programs unless replaced by a subsequent written agreement. I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights and hereby sign these Agreements freely and voluntarily.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the program, related events and activities, I the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

1. Private one-on-one and small group coaching is available from members of the SJVC coaching staff. These coaching sessions must be arranged and paid for through SJVC. SJVC coaching staff are prohibited by contract from arranging supplemental private coaching sessions with SJVC members on their own. Members who attempt to circumvent this rule are subject to “penalties, up to and including expulsion”

2. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist and,

3. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES, BUT NOT GROSS NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES; or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation.

4. In any emergency requiring medical attention, I hereby authorize the staff of the Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball Class to act for my child(ren) according to their best judgment. I hereby waive and release all Claims against Volleyball1on1, its officers, members, managers, owners, coaches, employees, sponsors, volunteers, and other agents arising from their actions in such situation and hereby agree to pay for all associated costs for medical attention for my child(ren), present and future, through my health insurance coverage and / or personal finances.

5. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS Volleyball1on1 / St. Johns Volleyball, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (RELEASES), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. By signing this Consent and Release Form, I confirm that I have fully informed myself of the contents of this Volleyball1on1 / St Johns Volleyball Club Medical Information & Parental Consent and Waiver by reading it before I signed it.

I warrant that I possess all the rights, powers, and privileges of a parent or legal guardian necessary to execute this document with binding legal effects.
