I am super excited to release new content from Gary Sato this week. Gary coaches with the USA Men’s National Team, as well is the Head Coach of the Boys U18 Men’s National Team. His awards are numerous, he has gold coaching the famous 1988 Olympic Team, a Bronze with the 1992 team, was the world League head coach of the year, additionally he has 2 NCAA Championships as an assistant coach at Pepperdine University with Marv Dunphy, and has been around volleyball at the highest level since the 70′s, yes 40+ years.
I met Gary and his famous family at State Beach when I arrived in this country and was immediately invited to one of the famous family volleyball games and meals. It was a good meal!
These video show some very valuable things on coaching. The most important being how to teach young and newer players how to rotate and where they need to be on the court once they are assigned positions. I think Gary’s strategy of the “Box Car” is genius and any coach who teaches youth should utilize it or at least know about it. Click Here to Preview 1 Video for free from the Practice!
Additionally we have revamped our entire drills section and are aggressively adding new drills. Our goal is to add at least 10 new drills a week till we reach 500+ drills over the next few months! For those of you interested in adding your favorite drills, getting credit and sharing them with the world please do so here!

Volleyball1on1 – Gary Sato (Youth Practice)
So this week I want to highlight a video from Gary Sato showing a great warmup drill he uses for Youth that they also use on the USA National Team. This is a simple drill that with a few small tweaks can be used for all levels to get the players ready to play while still warming up the players and working on important skills.
