Hi, I’m Jeff Nygaard three time Olympian and two time NCAA MVP. – 3 time Olympian, twice indoor, once beach, 2 time NCAA Champion, 2 time NCAA MVP, and 8 time AVP and FIVB champion. Today I want to talk to you about an aspect of the game of volleyball that I like to call the control factor.
The Control Factor
Take a spectrum of trying as hard as you can and not trying at all. I would prefer trying as hard as you can but sometimes that takes the effectiveness of your game away. You have to try hard but you have to find the zone. You have to stay focused and compact on your approaches so your explosive straight to the ball and not out of control. Say you’re in a position where you need to push and try really hard for something and things start breaking down because you are out of your comfort zone. Once you’re in the zone everything starts going your way and you can see where the ball is going and you play your best game.
