Invite Only - 6 Day Volleyball1on1 Summer Camp with Andor Gyulai

If you received the flyer, email or personal invite from your high school coach, then YOU are invited...

Andor Gyulai Coaching Players “How To Get In The Zone!”

This camp is limited to the top 6-8 players from each high school, and participation is by invite only. If you have received this correspondence, we would like to invite you to a 6-day volleyball camp hosted by Volleyball1on1 owner and founder Andor Gyulai in conjunction with your high school. The camp will run over a six-day period at two different high schools within close proximity of one other. The top six to eight players from each school can attend both camps at a discounted rate.

Andor Gyulai is the founder of Volleyball1on1 (www.volleyball1on1.com), which is headquartered in the heart of beach volleyball: Los Angeles, California. Launched in 2009, Volleyball1on1 is the first and top-ranked instructional volleyball coaching web site in the world, featuring more than 2,500 videos from the best coaches and players in the sport of volleyball, sharing insider instructional techniques, drills, practice plans, and more 1-on-1 for you!

Below is a summary of how you can benefit from our six-day camp, with personal instruction from Andor Gyulai:

  1. Having more than 50 hours to work with and get to know a player vs. 25 hours is a huge difference. Players build a better rapport and more trust, which creates a two-way conversation and more effective feedback. With 50 hours, Andor will have the time to personalize each camp to fit every individual player’s needs. The more personal, the better!
  2. Using the OODA Loop methodology, Andor will incorporate advanced training for each skill related to “Reading the Game.”
  3. Andor will teach players how to “slow the ball down” for each skill – and yes, it can be done!
  4. Andor will teach a pre-skill routine to increase consistency. Serving, blocking, defense, spiking and setting all need a routine. This is where we will iron that out, using, for example, the “AVCEX” coaching system.
  5. Andor is the most sought-out coach in the world to teach the ubiquitous skill of “spiking.” He has also been scheduled to run metric-based experiments using a 3D camera analyzing how to develop more spiking power.
  6. Every single individual will receive at least 700 passing reps with extensive feedback. All of the top coaches in the world have pointed to 400 passing reps as the number to hit per week to see noticeable improvement, and with Andor’s personal instruction, you will receive nearly DOUBLE the amount of reps. Read more here!
  7. Setters and hitters will receive a minimum of 1,000 reps throughout the week, with extensive feedback in each category.
  8. During the middle of the camp (day three), the attendees will complete an individual and team questionnaire, which will be evaluated during the fun tournament day that is day three. With the information gleaned from the questionnaire, we will establish goals for the second half of the camp.
  9. The most vital intangible of all: Team chemistry. We will tackle this topic every single minute of camp, building upon team culture and offensive strategy, customizing each camp by each team’s specific needs.
  10. As many of our campers will be high school upperclassmen, Andor has added college support, speaking individually with juniors and seniors, discussing college plans and strategies to get players roster spots and scholarships.

How Will My Kid Benefit From Attending the 6 Day Camp vs. only the 3 Day Camp?

Double the personal attention and training with Andor Gyulai

Andor Gyulai, owner and founder of Volleyball1on1, has filmed more than 2,500 videos with the best players and coaches in the world for beach and indoor volleyball.

With more than 50 hours of coaching and practice, Invitees to the six-day Volleyball1on1 Camp will receive exponentially more personal attention and 1-on-1 time with Andor Gyulai.

The knowledge that has been gleaned from working with the world’s best players and coaches has been condensed and summarized and is shared in the most efficient way possible for players. This includes: tips, techniques, tools, exercises, drills, practice plans, coaching philosophies and secrets used by the best coaches and players in world.

Additionally, all players and coaching staff receive a 6-month membership to Volleyball1on1 (Valued at $149.95) to support them during high school season.

Time for Absorption for Advanced Techniques

As a coach, we are often limited based upon how much a young player can absorb in a certain period of time. As a result, advanced techniques are often not taught, and when they are, they are often not absorbed as well as players who ae learning and understanding the basics and fundamentals.

With the extra time allotted in the six-day camp, players will receive more coaching in the advanced nuances of the game, personalized for each player’s needs.

The OODA Loop: A better system for teaching "Reading the Game"

“Reading the Game” has become the biggest change in volleyball coaching over the past five years, and yet it is that very concept that the majority of high school and club coaches struggle to teach and are subsequently the most interested in learning. We believe there is a more effective system, and we have since adopted the ideas from the most successful fighter pilot in United States Air Force history!

We have built on the “OODA Loop” using vision training in baseball, which has resulted in new techniques to make the ball seem as if it were moving in slow motion, thus slowing the game down when “reading.”

There is not a single camp or coach teaching this skill outside of Volleyball 1on1, and we’d love to share our knowledge with you!

Performing Under Pressure

At Volleyball1on1, we believe a critical aspect of our jobs as coaches is to teach players how to focus, and we have made vision and focus two pillars of our program. It is far too often that we hear from coaches how their season met its demise by “choking” under the pressure of playoffs.

With Volleyball1on1, this will no longer be the case for your team, as we teach players and coaches proven techniques, exercises and drills to improve focus and effectively manage stress.

The ability to perform under pressure can be taught like any other tangible skill. Six-day camp attendees will learn and practice advanced techniques such as “eye switching” to learn how to alter their physical state to be in peak performance mode. These techniques are proven and currently being used by the best athletes in all sports, and will be shared and practiced with six-day camp attendees.

We Teach How To Slow the Ball and Thus the Game Down

We hear it often: The Zone. Athletes speak of this enigmatic state of mind with a particular reverence, when the game seems to slow down, almost as if it were moving in slow motion. To enter the zone is seen as the ultimate athletic achievement, a state of mind only available to the greatest athletes in sports.

Not anymore.

With a little training and practice, you and your players will be armed with the knowledge and tools to make the ball seem as if it were traveling in slow motion. If you are skeptical, feel free to schedule a call with Andor Gyulai to review your preferred camp date, and he will share the secrets used by the best baseball players in history that are also applicable to volleyball.

Focus on Individual and Team Passing - 700+ Passing Reps

Dr. Gilbert Fellingham, a professor of statistics at BYU and a leader in volleyball analytics, conducted a study and determined that passing is the first (3-point pass), third (4-point pass) and fourth (2-point pass) most important skill in women’s volleyball. As such, Volleyball1on1 Camps, backed by one of the premier coaches, Shawn Patchell, place an extraordinary emphasis on improving individual and team passing, ensuring that each player at the six-day camp will receive at least 700 passing reps per camp week.

Read more on the benefits of 400+ passes during the first week of practice here!

Setting and Hitting Reps

Setters and hitters attending the six-day Volleyball1on1 Summer Camp will receive a minimum of 1,000 reps at their respective positions, while also getting extensive feedback on their technique. This will result in rapid improvement and the development of “meta-cognition,” or self-awareness of what a player will need to do in order to be successful.

The Most Intense Curriculum

During six-day camp week, our goal is to teach players 80-90% of what they will need to know for their high school season. All schools who work with Volleyball1on1 gain a significant advantage in that their players are primed and prepared to compete as soon as the camp week is finished, if not before! Our camps are fast-paced, team-oriented and educational while still offering players quality individual touches.

More College Prep Advice

As many of our campers will be high school upperclassmen, Andor has added college support, speaking individually with juniors and seniors, discussing college plans and strategies to get players roster spots and scholarships.
