I am super excited to announce that beach volleyball is making a major comeback. It looks like there will be at least 3 major players offering over 1 million dollars in prize money for 2012! Yeah Baby!
Firstly, TheNVL.com opens the season at the Preakness Stakes with $50,000 in prize 
money followed by 5 additional events! Next the Jose Cuervo Beach Volleyball Series just announced 7 events with a total of $660,000 in prizes and the final event offering $150,000 in money alone. Finally, the AVP was bought for 2 million by a new investment group a few weeks ago who says they are committed to offering at least 1 event for 2012.
Add the Olympics and the winding down of the first ever NCAA Women’s Beach Volleyball Season and all I can say is, “We are in for a real good summer of fun!” 
This week we are introducing the first of Two Full NCAA Beach Volleyball Practices we filmed. The coach is the very popular Tom Black, consultant to USA Volleyball and LMU Head Coach. I have worked with Tom before and will argue that he is the best indoor coach I have yet met for his age.
In filming these two practices we went start to finish through an entire practice as well as spent some time with him after practice discussing strategy, practice planning and finally his experience of the first ever NCAA Women’s Sand Volleyball Season.
Finally, I filmed Dana Camacho last week sharing his secrets on his killer sky ball and how he reads hitters when playing beach volleyball. So this week I want to highlight 2 videos with Tom Black, LMU Head Coach and Consultant to the USA National Team. This past week we filmed 44 video over two full practices from the first ever NCAA Beach Volleyball Season. Part 1 is up and going!
Tom’s practices address some of the challenges of coaching beach verses indoor. Additionally coaching professional beach where practices consist of 2-4 players verses NCAA Women’s Beach Volleyball with 10 players consisting of 5 teams of 2.
These practices highlight important new concepts of volleyball coaching including “Specificity” and “Transfer,” strategies many coaches are unaware of, and the importance applying this scientific approach to get results.
